Christmas and School Holiday Parenting Arrangements

For separated parents, now is the time to review your parenting arrangements for the Christmas and long summer school holiday periods.

The Court has a cut-off to file an application for parenting arrangements over the Christmas and long summer school holidays, which is 4pm on 8 November 2024.

While November (and Christmas) might feel like a long way away, we encourage you to try to resolve any dispute at the earliest opportunity and you need time to be able to comply with pre-action procedures before any application can be made to the Court. If you can’t reach agreement and fail to meet the cut-off deadline to file an application, your matter will be allocated to the next available hearing date which would likely be in early 2025.

If you need advice or assistance in finalising your parenting arrangements for Christmas, don’t wait until it is too late.
